Thank you to all who came out and supported HART’s 2014 production of The Tempest!

A special thank you to the Indianapolis Foundation, a CICF Affiliate; Lilly Endowment; and, the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation. In addition, many thanks to all of our individual donors, our corporate supporters and to our foundation supporters for all you are doing to make free Shakespeare in downtown Indy available to audiences every summer!

A Tempest at the Tempest?

We sure hope not! But here is the scoop if we get a storm:

We will do EVERYTHING we can to present our production tonight (Friday) and Saturday at 8pm.

Preshow festivities will begin at 6pm if at all possible.

What would shut us down? Lightning and/or heavy rain.

How will you know what’s going on? Keep up to date with our Facebook and Twitter pages for any changes to the present schedule.image

All You Need to Know About Coming to The Tempest!

MirFerdonrocks

“Oh Ferdinand, where should people park when they come and see us in The Tempest?”
“Dear Miranda, I have much to say about parking and logistics! Here’s the scoop:

Parking is available in the White River State Park underground garage located at 801 West Washington. The entrance is right between the Eiteljorg Museum and the Indiana State Museum. This year, pay on your way in for quick, easy exiting after the show.”

“How much does the parking cost, Ferdinand?”
“On Thursday July 31st and Friday Aug 1st, parking is $5.
On Saturday Aug 2nd, parking is $6 because there is an Indians Game at 7pm.
Please note there will be extra traffic that evening, Miranda, from the Indians Game as well as the Indy Eleven home game at 7:30pm.”

“Where will people find us?”
“Once you have parked the car, exit the western pedestrian staircase, stroll west, past the NCAA, and there you’ll find the beautiful amphitheatre with the lovely White River and Old Washington Street Bridge serving as our backdrop.”

“Ferdinand, what if people don’t like sitting on a rock like us?”
“Why, Miranda, free lawn chairs are available! Or people may bring a blanket!
Just remember, taller lawn chairs shall sit in the back rows!”

“Got it, Ferdinand! What is our running time again?”
“Our whole performance is two hours, including intermission, Miranda.”

“What if I am hungry or thirsty?”
“Miranda, no worries! You may bring your own picnic basket and beverages or you may purchase delectable food and drinks from the Indy Food Trucks, Sun King Brewery, Rettig Hill Winery and Satek Winery.”

“That sounds fantastic, Ferdinand! See you at the park!”
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world, Miranda!”
